POCKET FLAP

Making a pocket flap is not very complicated.

Step 1: the Cup

A flap pattern is simply a rectangle. The length will be a centimeter longer than the pocket opening and the height is free. Think has added seam values.
. The flap is cut once in fabric and once in lining. Between these thicknesses, we will add a thickness of tailoring fabric.

Step 2 : sliding

After having cut all your elements, it is necessary to assemble them. We will therefore slide all of our elements with the tailor cloth in the middle. After sliding, you have to cut the tailoring fabric which protrudes from the seam and you strip the rest of the stairs.

Step 3: returned

Now turn the flap over and make a seam roll.

Optional step

If you want, you can topstitch your flap. For my part, I did it with the value of my foot almost 3 mm. Consider doing a test, for my part, on my woolen fabric, I had to use a cord because a sewing thread is too thin and melts in the woolen fabric.

Step 4 : roll it up

To allow our flap to roll, we will make a hand stitch.
