RATTAIL STRAPS
The rattail straps are bridles that is usually found on the wedding dress in particular, but not only. The bridle can be used as a buttonhole or as a brettelle for example. Rattail straps are simple to make, but it takes the patient.
Step 1: The cup.
It is therefore necessary to cut a rectangle whose width will depend on the desired padding and the thickness of the desired bridle. The length, on the other hand, depends on the number of straps to be made and the size of the button.
Step 2: Pre-folded
Once the fabric is cut, the rectangle will have to be folded in half lengthwise and the fold will have to be folded in the iron. You can also start giving it a rounded shape.
Step 3: Assemble
For the rest, there are two possibilities:
You will sting about two centimetres (think about making a back point to consolidate) in the fold (inside) of the bridle leaving a length of wire large enough to go to the other end of the bridle. You leave the yarn inside well in the hollow of the crease so as not to sew on it and then you will assemble parallel to the folds at the desired distance.
or
You will assemble directly at the desired distance always parallel to the folds and then you will pass a wire by hand at the end to be able to return the bridle. The further you assemble away from the edge, the more fabrics will have tucked in, but this will make you a nice hard bridle

Step 4: Return
Once your bridle is sewn, you’re going to have to turn it over. To do this, you just have to pull the wire gently. This step is the longest so you will have to arm yourself with patience some bridle requires very long minutes to be returned.
